Healthcare Data Analytics Clerkship
Description:
Pro Pharma Pharmaceutical Consultants, Inc. (Pro Pharma) consults to Self-Insured, Trusts, public entities, and Managed Care organizations including Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Health Plans and Physician Groups (e.g., PPO, IPA). Among Pro Pharma’s clients are several physician groups across the United States. The student will have primary involvement for clients chosen by and under the supervision of Dr. Stern. This rotation is designed for a self-motivated and self-directed student. Students should expect to spend a significant time in independent study and research.
Objectives:
Upon completion of the rotation in Data Analytics the student will be able to:
- Work in conjunction with managed care and other HealthCare professionals; understand their data and analytics needs, communicate effectively, and understand how managed care and population health professionals approach health care analytics.
- Discuss data sources and the utilization of big data in analytics.
- Discuss the analytical tools used to develop analytical solutions and business intelligence reports.
- Perform specific patient drug review, monitoring, and communication with physicians for selected high-risk subsets of patients.
Activities/Responsibilities:
The student will spend 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during the eight-(8) week Clerkship. Activities will be at the offices of Pro Pharma Pharmaceutical Consultants, in the library and/or online researching specific topics, or in pre-assigned locations performing data analysis. A portion of this time will be spent in conferences and other activities. Morning and afternoon activities, assignments, and times will be assigned. The student must be prepared to be self-directed and work independently. The student will function as a full multidisciplinary team member under the direct supervision of Dr. Stern and will provide the highest level of professional conduct and knowledge. The activities and responsibilities of the student pharmacist will be assigned in each client work area.

Genentech
Commercial Rotation Development Program (CRDP)
Description:
Two CRDP tracks are currently available, customized to the associate’s interests and experience:
- MCCO Track: three 9-month home office assignments, typically focused in Managed Care + one 3-month global rotation (optional)
- Field Sales Track: one 14-18 month field sales assignment + two 6- to 9-month home office assignments + one 3-month global rotation (optional)
Objective:
Genentech’s Commercial Rotation Development Program (CRDP) is designed to recruit, hire, develop and retain high potential future leaders in the Biotechnology Industry from top MBA, PharmD, and PhD programs. True to its foundation as a rotational program, the CRDP Associate will have the opportunity to glean knowledge from and develop skills in various groups within Genentech’s Commercial Organization. CRDP Associates may complete field sales and home office rotations in areas such as Managed Care & Customer Operations (MCCO), Market Analysis & Strategy (MA&S), Brand Marketing, Commercial Business Operations (CBO), and Government Affairs, in addition to an optional three-month global rotation in an emerging market.
